ALVARO DE LA HERRAN
Álvaro is an advertising and fiction film director, screenwriter and content creator, specialized in
narratives aimed at creating emotions, with a clean, elegant and evocative visual style. He has a
degree in Information Sciences and Advertising from the UCM, studied cinematography at the
ECAM, and scriptwriting by teachers such as Robert Mckee, Senel Paz and Synd Fild. He was
part of the Berlinale Talent Campus 2003, where he reinforced his directing method with Spike
Lee, Stephen Fears and Mike Figgis. In 2006 he founded the pioneering production company
Ipodermix Studio with which he promoted new editorial content with publications such as Vogue
Italia, GQ, ELLE and ICON. In 2011 he began his career as an advertising director with Toni
Segarra and * S, C, P, F.
His work has been featured at the Los Angeles Cinematheque, the Balenciaga Museum, the Milan
Fashion Museum, the prestigious Diane Pernet ASVOFF festival, and hundreds of international
film festivals. Canal + invited him to participate in the documentary “Fashion Films” when his work
“MINE” for GQ reached more than twenty-two million viewers. He currently combines his work as
an advertising director in various countries, with the development of fiction projects with
production companies such as Mediapro Studios.
Álvaro has worked for clients such as Nike, Volvo, Erik Bompard, Movistar, NH, Evax, Tampax, El
Corte Inglés, Intropia, Farabella, Caser and Sesderma, among others, hand in hand with agencies
such as *S,C,P,F , McCann, Wunderman Thomson or Air Paris.
